Galit Zuckerman Stark

Founder, CEO, and board member

Galit Zuckerman-Stark is founder and CEO of Medasense Biometrics Ltd. Ms. Zuckerman brings to Medasense over twenty years of entrepreneurship, management and engineering experience in both startups and large corporations. Ms. Zuckerman founded Medasense upon discovering that while advanced algorithms are used frequently in many different industries such as semiconductors, communication, and many others, the discipline of medicine and specifically pain was then still left behind. Today Medasense is selling in Europe, Canada, Latin America, Israel, with key strategic partners such as Medtronic selling Medasense products in major Western Europe territories.

Before founding Medasense she managed algorithm teams at Applied Materials, worked at Nokia-Siemens and NICE Systems, and served in the IDF’s 8200 “Haman Talpiot” program. She was also part of the founding teams for several startup companies in the algorithms field, including BoneTone Communications which was successfully acquired by DSP Group, Inc. in 2011.

Ms. Zuckerman holds an MSc degree in electrical engineering (cum laude, Engineering Faculty Excellence Program) and a BSc in computer engineering (cum laude, Adi Lautman Program for Outstanding Students at TAU) from Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Walter Tabachnik

Walter Tabachnik

CFO, Board Member

Mr. Tabachnik served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Oridion Systems, a successful patient monitoring company. He led their successful acquisition by the global healthcare company, Covidien, for $346 Million in 2012. Mr. Tabachnik later served as Covidien’s Director of Strategy and Portfolio EMEA. Previously Mr. Tabachnik has held a number of senior accounting positions in various distinguished firms in Israel and South Africa.

Mr. Tabachnik is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.

Doug Bartlett

Doug Bartlett

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Bartlett joined Medasense as Chief Commercial Officer after nearly 20 years’ experience in Medical Devices; most recently as the General Manager of Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring Division. Throughout his career, he’s held numerous sales and marketing leadership roles for market-leading medical and surgical device brands – in both Israel and the U.S. He is passionate about patient safety, especially in the perioperative space – and serves on the Board of Directors of the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation.

Mr. Bartlett also served as U.S. Army Officer, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the Virginia Military Institute.

Adi Costa

VP Research and Development

Mr. Costa brings over a decade of experience in algorithm and software development combined with strong practical knowledge of the clinical and regulatory R&D process. As VP R&D for Paieon Medical, a medical device startup in the field of cardiac imaging diagnostics, he led the design and development of their algorithm and software technology, and successfully managed the technical aspects of their clinical and regulatory process. He was previously the Algorithm Group Manager for Applied Materials where he developed several unique Intellectual Property solutions with patents filed and his work published. Prior to this, he has held software engineering roles for Demantra-Oracle and Idioma.

Mr. Costa holds an M.Sc. in Computer Sciences from Bar-Ilan University, Israel.

Mira Altmark-Sofer

VP Business Development & Marketing

Ms. Sofer (EMBA) brings over fifteen years of experience in building commercial and marketing strategy, and developing new business channels. Prior to joining Medasense, Ms. Sofer was the VP Business Development and Marketing at Medisim Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of sophisticated thermometry medical devices. She led the trade and sales activity in the U.S. and Europe and was responsible for the strategic business partnerships. She has also held various business development and marketing leadership positions for Ophir Group and Promarket.

Ms. Sofer served as an outside director of a public company and holds an EMBA from the Recanati Business School –Tel Aviv University

Rachel Weissbrod

Rachel Weissbrod 

VP Clinical, Regulatory and QA Affairs

Ms. Weissbrod brings 20 years of experience in the medical device industry in clinical strategy and market development, regulatory affairs and quality assurance, product innovation and management. Prior to joining Medasense, Ms. Weissbrod was a Global Director of Medical Affairs & Value Based Healthcare at Medtronic focusing on clinical market development for patient monitoring devices.

Ms. Weissbrod has held leadership roles in Quality Assurance, Regulatory & Clinical Affairs at Covidien, Oridion Medical and additional start-up companies with extensive experience in leading teams in the development and execution of global regulatory, quality and clinical strategies supporting new product development and commercialization.

Ms. Weissbrod holds a B.Pharm, and an MBA, both from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
